Founded on the principle ”Begin with what’s left over, turn it into what will last”, Emeco has been building furniture from recycled materials since 1944 in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Our very first chair, the 1006 Navy Chair®, was built for the U.S. Navy to survive the tough life aboard warships and submarines. It wasn't about style. Created to be light weight, non-corrosive, fireproof and super resilient, the chair was handcrafted from scrap aluminum, a wartime necessity, and made so strong it was tested to last 150 years. And that's exactly how we still build our furniture today.
